1 Introduction
  
CIPH9803A is a programmable five-phase stepping motor control chip. The chip has many settings such as step setting (up to 1 million steps), reversible operation, start, parking, pause, working speed, speed, etc. It has a sensor signal input port to control the positioning parking of the stepping motor. The practical application shows that the five-phase stepping motor control circuit based on CIPH9803A special chip has the advantages of low cost and high reliability, and is especially suitable for the technical transformation of machine tool equipment.

2 pin function and technical parameters

2.1 pin function
  
The pins of the CIPH9803A chip are arranged as shown in Figure 1. The pin functions are as follows:

RST: reset pin, high level effective, normally working, the pin should be low level;

OUT1~OUT5: The excitation outputs of A~E phase of five-phase stepping motor are all negative pulses and the load current is less than 25mA.

XTAL1, XTAL2: Access end of crystal oscillation circuit;

STOP: Stepping motor parking input, negative pulse is valid. When the stepping motor is in the specified position, the negative pulse generated by the photoelectric sensor can be input to the end to stop the stepping motor automatically.

LED: Key indicates output, low level effective. When any key of the keyboard is pressed, the end outputs a low level.

GND: Power supply ground;

VDD: Power supply front end (+2.7 to+6.5V);

C1-C4: Columns 1-4 used to connect determinant keyboards;

R1-R4: Rows 1-4 used to connect determinant keyboards, respectively.

2.2 Main technical parameters

The main technical parameters of CIPH9803A are as follows:

Work speed: 6r/min;

Fast: 60r/min;
  
OUT1~OUT5: The five-phase excitation output of the stepping motor is five-phase and ten-beat, and the load capacity is less than 25mA.
  
Step settings: 999999 steps.

3 How it works

When CIPH9803A is working, the number of steps of the stepping motor should be set by the keyboard first. In the step setting process, if you find that the number you have entered is incorrect, you can press the "C" function key to eliminate it. Each press of the "C" function key can eliminate one input number. If you press the "C" function key six times in a row, you can eliminate the six input numbers. After the number of running steps is set, the sign of positive and negative can be set by the "A" function key, which is the double function switch key of positive and negative, and the default is positive. The "B" function key sets the working speed and the fast sign, and the "B" function key is the speed and fast dual function switch key, which defaults to the working speed. When the number of steps, the sign of forward and reverse, and the mark of working speed are set, the stepping motor can be started immediately by pressing the "E" function key. In the process of stepping motor operation, if you need to pause, just press the "D" key. If you press the "D" key again, the stepping motor will continue to run. There are three parking modes for stepping motors: one is to stop automatically after running to a specified number of steps; Second, press "F" function key to force parking; Third, the positioning signal obtained by the positioning sensor controls parking.

4 Application Circuit
  
The five-phase stepping motor control system circuit based on CIPH9803A special chip is shown in Figure 2. In the diagram, solid state relay is a power driver for stepping motor. Users should select a reasonable type of solid state relay, such as 5A, 10A, 15A, 20A, etc. according to the load size of stepping motor.

5 Concluding remarks
  
The five-phase stepping motor control system based on CIPH9803A special chip has the features of high integration, simple peripheral circuit, easy maintenance and reliable operation. The system has been used in the technical transformation of the machine tool equipment of a mechanical and electrical company in Tianjin, and the result is very ideal.
